That's so cool it makes me wish I had a need to do it. And did you see that video has 13 million views? Holy Toledo!
Justin

I don't get it. I couldn't understand a word she was saying. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.
Carisa

This is AWESOME!! Will I really have a spare water bottle lying around when I need to separate an egg? I hope so!

The Giving Season - Oct 2012

Dearest family-
I am back to work, back to the grind- but still riding the high of spending the weekend with my awesome family that just always makes me feel so great whenever we are together. Thanks everyone for being fabulous and J and B- thanks for throwing such a great party.

I meant to throw this out there when we were all together- but what do you say this year we just all give each other christmas gifts in spirit. I know if we could we would all love to generously give to everyone, but I propose this year we just give each other words of love and support. Thoughts?
Kristi

As we were driving home, I was thinking about Christmas and waiting for your gift assignments. This idea works for me--I am not always such a great gift giver, but I am so good at words of love and support. Do the words of love and support previously offered count toward this Christmas? Or are we expected to give brand new words of love and support specifically for Christmas?

Just kidding.
Amy

Amy, you are cleverly funny.  I like you.
Jeremy

Jeremy...that doesn't count as your gift.

ABC News - Jul 2012

"...and we called up the Hackworths..."

Behold and Lo, we listened to Justin's voice on national TV, and we saw pictures of Amy, Eli, and Miles.  What did we then do?  We saved the news report on TiVo.

Jenni asked, "Who gives a Tweet?" The answer is Justin.
Allen

This is so cool brother. I love having famous siblings.

That was so cool to watch!!  I'm wondering what the first time this week is though. You'll have to forgive me...we've been on a wonderful honeymoon in a magical place called Aruba.
xo. C

Hey, welcome home to the honeymooners!  Glad you are home and that you had a wonderful time.

We can't wait to hear all about it.  Why not plan on one night for a slide show with your pictures.  Then another night, Jordan and Janna can show their pictures of Australia.  Then on another night the rest of us can show our pictures of what we look like wishing we were in Aruba or Australia!
Love, Mom

I so love my family.

Jordan Hackworth Commented on Shane Calders Photo - Mar 2009

One of the funniest things I have ever witnessed! Jordan Hackworth was standing up in the back of this truck, and all of the sudden the driver (I think Marshall Rudd) sped up, and like a tree ol Hackworth hit the pavement hard! To make things worse the Upper Valley Anglers Association float ran right over him! Time stood still for a second as the crowd was in silence! The whole parade stopped as Jordan peeled himself off the pavement with the reddest face and said "I'm Ok!" It was pretty scary at the moment, but Jordan was more embarrased than hurt I think. Obviously this was before the incident because Jordan is still on his feet. I think the life jacket saved his life:)
Shane Calder via Facebook

Jordan replied after your comment on Shane Calder's photo:

"Rudd sped up! I remember he was watching the flag team to the side of us and had forgotten to drive forward. When he looked up, we were way behind. It might have been the year after this, cause didn't it happen in front of the Jr High?"

Where Are the Brave Ones Out There - Jan 2009

Okay, today is the day that Jordan and I (the only ones brave enough for the
weight-loss challenge) officially start our diet.  I'm already very hungry
and it's only 10:20 a.m.  I've been chewing gum until my teeth and gums are sore.

But, I will finally lose those ten, twenty pounds that I've wanted to lose
 for lots of years.

Too bad the rest of you are not in on this motivating contest.  The winner
receives a gift card to Red Lobster or Olive Garden.  (No irony intended!)

So, we're off.....  Love, Mom

Loni!
I'm a straggler! I'm in too. Only, I'll leave the prize-pool to you
guys. I'm not declaring a weight loss goal in pounds, rather, a goal
to fit into my favorite jeans again, and improve our eating habits.
More fruit and veges, and fewer M&M's!

Take a look at this website: www.hungrygirl.com

Janna

Hmmmm, i want to play....I just don't have an end goal, I mean I'm happy with my weight, I can fit into my favorite jeans, but I'm not as strong as I want to be....maybe if I make a goal to be able to bench press Jordan, or be able to run a three minute mile....ok, I'm in.  And I don't want the aforementioned prize either, can we have the motivation be a trip to Mexico so the winner can show off their new trim figure on the beach?  And do I really have to give up M&M's?  And when is the deadline?  and who's the judge?  and when do I get my t-shirt?

ps.  my body is doughy.  it's icky.  i ate a pepper for dinner.

love you all, my fierce competitors -

kdrose

OK, me too. I was afraid to commit, but I'm in. And I don't want to compete for the prize, either, just the glory. And I don't have a weight goal either, but I do have a jean goal, the ones that fit so great like two months ago. What happened?

Like Kristi, I have questions. What's our accountability like? Do we check in regularly? What if we each set personal weekly goals, either for what we eat or how much we exercise and then we check in to see if we reached our personal goals? I don't know. We have to check in, though, or it can't be called The Biggest Loser. That's where all the drama is, in the check in. And what's our deadline? Eight weeks? Twelve weeks? What are the terms here?

Henry's Lake - Feb 2009

Read the words and then look at the picture.
Henrys Lake
Nutrient rich as Grandmother's vegetable stew,
Henrys Lake sweetens her mint-green shores with dew
And implores all who sip her waters to drink freely.
Bread-soft, grassy meadows rise gently over the hills,
And elegant yet rustic homes fill spaces between the trees.

In the lake, in the clean, mountain soup,
Large, hybrid trout,
One-part cutthroat, one-part rainbow,
Grow, thrive, and teach the meaning of beauty and design.

Non-stop through the summer,
These silken shadows glide and gorge themselves
On nymphs, slugs, and the right amount of minnows.
For these lurkers, it's a "Golden Corral" delight.

Henrys Lake, a fertile, mountain womb,
Never stops giving birth from June to June.
Bugs, moss, and aquatic vines,
Seagulls, sand-hill cranes, and lines of pelicans
Link a vibrant, thriving world.

Henrys Lake is never the same
Because her ever-changing face connects
With the hills, peaks, and trees,
With the clouds and soft breezes which blow
First one direction, then another,
With the dancing winds and soft rains,
With the emerging, mid-day, or fading light,
And with the bright moon glow and quiet nights.

Sometimes when the summer sun shines brightly
Through white, puffy clouds,
Like a loud argument, thunder crashes southwest of Jefferson Peak.
Then, taking its time, a black shroud begins to spread across the sky,
And someone cries, "Take cover."

Like new water flowing down an empty ditch,
The storm rolls north on its way to Montana.
Rain stretches its long, liquid fingers to the ground
And white caps pound against the shore.

I love it all:
The changing waters, the rugged, nearby lands,
The demands the weather makes on campers,
The low-flying birds which drift and float with the ease of a smile.

With a grateful heart, when I start a prayer of thanks,
I won't forget the taste of fresh trout,
Fried in butter and sprinkled with lemon pepper,
Wild Rose Ranch and Staley Springs,
Power boats, float tubes, fishermen galore,
And fertile Henrys Lake
With its hatchery on the north shore.
